The lowdown on Teppanyaki

I asked a Japanese lady who married a Taiwanese to compare Teppanyaki restaurants in Japan and Taiwan.  "I can't",  she said,  "because I never had Teppanyaki in Japan.  Teppanyaki restaurants are expensive in Japan, not for common folks."  She continued:  "I love Taiwan Teppanyaki.  They are delicious and affordable."

Here is what the world needs to know about Teppanyaki.
  • Teppanyaki is the most versatile and the best way to cook
  • In spite of this, it is little known even now in 2018, and not very popular except in Taiwan
  • Real Teppanyaki is not about chef providing acrobatic entertainment as in the US chain Benihana of Tokyo
  • The best Teppanyaki restaurants are in Taiwan, not in Japan
  • There are much more Teppanyaki restaurants per capita in Taiwan than anywhere else.
  • You can have a wonderfully delicious Teppanyaki meal in Taiwan for less than $5 USD.
I had this gourmet Teppanyaki meal at 江戶鐵板燒 for less than $10 USD per person.  The meal included a vegetable (空心菜), fish (赤鱆), scallop, shrimp, beef, soup, rice, and grilled banana with ice cream.
  • You can easily have an N course gourmet Teppanyaki meal in Taiwan, and it needs not be expensive.
